CARBOHYDRATES
Carbohydrates get broken down into their simplest form eventually, which is glucose(sugar). It does not matter whether you get the carbs through bread, pasta, strawberries, they will be broken down to into glucose. Glucose provides the fuel for you muscles and your brain, which is why carbohydrates are very important, and your body is at extreme risk on a low carb diet.
Carbs are very important for anybody performing high intensity activitiy for long periods of time because your body must be re-fueled with energy. If you are looking to burn fat, keep your blood sugar levels even and consistent(keep carb intake consistent)
If you are able to keep you carb intake consistent; your body will remain at a fat-burning state. If you eat carbs which raise blood sugar levels quickly, they will be followed be a quick down time which will cause you to feel tired. If you consume carbs that raise your blood sugar levels at a moderate rate, then you will burn fat for longer periods of time and feel more energetic throughout your workouts and throughout the day.
If you try going on a no-carb diet(which I have done)…your body will feel really lazy and tired ALWAYS, as well your brain will not function at a normal state; you will feel very slow and maybe a bit less smarter!
The following should form the majority of the carbs throughout your daily intake within moderation
Vegetables of all kinds
Oatmeal
Whole grain breads
Whole grain cereals
Brown rice
Potatoes
Sweet potatoes
Yams
Barley
Rye
Lentils
